The film is based on Lars von Trier’s personal opinion about the director Jorgen Leth. Both directors debate about Leth’s old film and its “live reconstruction”. Trier is trying to prove to Leth that he is absorbed by his idea of the “Perfect man”, that he is confined to his own artistic visions so much that he looses contact with the real world and thus becomes incomprehensible. With the help of certain restrictions and regulations Trier provokes Leth’s “free expression”. In the end, this “free expression” is nothing but a careful fulfillment of Trier’s design.
The screening is in partnership with the International Documentary Film Festival Jihlava.
