George Clooney filmed a reconstructed argument between a TV reporter Edward Murrow and Senator Joseph McCarthy who in the 1950’s presided over the Senate committee which investigated US citizens suspected from collaboration with communists. In reality the work of McCarthy’s committee was a witch-hunt which closely resembled political processes taking place at the same time in the countries of the Eastern Block.
