(Velký Benátčan, cesta od moře do mraků), Petr Novák / CZ, 2010
Czech version , 20 min
… Ages ago, the Tyroleans would look up to it in astonishment, believing that the summit of this majestic mountain must surely offer a view as far as Venetia. They named the ice-covered giant the Great Venetian.
Dan Polman, biker and alpinist from Nová Paka (Czech Republic), has made the journey from Venetia to the Alpine summit Großvenediger (3674 m) on a road bike, a mountain bike, and on foot. He made the 320 kilometers (and over 6000 meters of elevation difference) in less than 17 hours!
This non-stop bike&hike project connecting the charms of Venetia, the Dolomites, and the Alps has been documented by Petr Novák in his gripping movie “The Great Venetian: From the Sea up to the Sky”.
The screening will be introduced by an opening speech on making of the movie with illustrative photographs and short videos.
With every purchased ticket, viewers will obtain one copy of lidé&HORY bimonthly. Furthermore, after the screening they will take part in drawing with the chance to win a yearly subscription of lidé&HORY and Alpentour guidebooks.
