Moodysson’s third movie is based on a true story. Lilja is left by her mother and is forced to live in the tough reality of the Soviet Union. Soon, Lilja becomes broke and so there is just a tiny step to earn money by prostitution. Andrey, a young handsome guy enters her life, promising her a better future in Sweden. But this is not the end of the story, not the happy-end. Bad social conditions, sexual slavery and degradation of a young person - this all you can see watching this very realistic movie.
