Experiments with film stories have attracted Jarmusch since shooting the film Stranger Than Paradise (1984), but he did not master it until The Night On Earth (1991).The three stories of The Mystery Train take place in 24 hours in Memphis. The characters of this film (Japanesse tourists, Italian widow, three adolescents) do not actually meet.
