(Sejdeme se v Denveru ), Jan Šikl / CZ, 2006
Czech version / English Subtitles, 52 min
The film is a part of a series based on home footage the intimacy of which reflects or social history. Time has transformed every captured detail into an illustration of the life of the past generations. See You In Denver tells the story of two generations of the Čvančara family from 1920 to 1970. František and his brother grew up in their father's cinema and were indelibly influenced by American Western films. The nationalized film industry dispossessed the family of their cinema and film rental and the Czech protagonist was banned from colleges, imprisoned and finally emigrated from his socialist homeland.
The partner of the screening is International Documentary Film Festival Jihlava.
