The bitter force of fate tears into the harmonious life of a family of four in the form of a serious car crash. The mother and youngest son do not survive the crash. Only the father Lasse and his oldest son Jonas remain. Nine months later the two of them set out to spend their summer holidays on the Swedish archipelago. Tough times follow, as Lasse struggles with depression and Jonas increasingly isolates himself. Supported by a troupe of extraordinary actors and exquisite picture composition that skillfully incorporates the summer landscapes of Sweden into the action, director Johan Brisinger has created a complex, emotional piece on the power of mourning and overcoming of the same.
