(Jabloňová panna), Břetislav Pojar / Československo, 1973

In this account freely inspired by K. J. Erben, we’ll find everything we expect from a fairytale: a fearless prince, a beautiful enchanted princess and an old witch, who’d like to take her place by the prince’s side. Pojar knows how to add a touch of gentle humour, and Miroslav Štěpánek, using Gothic, stylised puppets, accentuates the suggestive balladic qualities of the story.
