(Der Untergang), Oliver Hieschibiegel / NĚM - ITÁ - RAK, 2004
German & Russian version / Czech subtitles, 150 min
It was the end of April 1945. A few days after his 56th birthday, in his Berlin bunker, Adolf Hitler dictated his last will and testament, got married to Eva Braun, committed suicide and was burned in the garden of his chancellery. Such were the last days of Adolf Hitler and his Reich. They have been reconstructed and filmed based on the accounts in a book written by Hitler’s secretary. The film ignited a heated debate questioning the morality of portraying Hitler as a human being. It has been nominated for an Oscar for best foreign film.
