(Vratné lahve), Jan Svěrák / ČR, 2007
Czech version, 100 min
A long awaited sixth feature film directed by Jan Svěrák and written by Zdeňek Svěrák is entering Czech cinemas after a laborious production. These even reached a point several years ago when the director refused his father’s screenplay. However, Zdeňek Svěrák did not give up, rewrote the screenplay and now we can finally see the result on screen. A comedy about having to part, being welcome, and other matters to do with marriage traces Josef Tkaloun, a retired teacher, who does not yet feel finished. He refuses to spend the autumn of his life wihting four walls with only his wife and accepts instead a part-time job handling bottles, where he can be closer to people. Through his „window“ he soon starts to enter their lives…
