A little bit of love and fantasy in the culinary underbelly, where life is a buffet and everything is short order. Playing out over one long night in an unidentified, but very flamboyant place, Short Order fuses food, odd personalities and bizarre environments. All of the protagonists are in the business of food, as chefs, waiters, delivery people or critics. The film pays homage to Hollywood’s Technicolor musicals and develops into a highly entertaining and darkly humorous drama with a collage of colourful characters.
